With the post in the forum, Remedy announced that the PC version of Alan Wake is a "huge success" for them! Under the "huge success" I mean that for 48 hours the company has recovered their investment for the PC port and the marketing of the game, respectively, after all these 48 hours is all profit for them.
BTW this is opportunity to say that I'd like to review the game, but lately I have no time and I do not know when I will succeed (last night I started the fourth episode), so I'll share some quick impressions:
- If you play heavily story-driven game with thriller elements - This is the game;
- If you have the hardware, PC version looks excellent;
- Strongly recommend playing with headphones on and turn off the HUD (I've never enjoyed so much the fact that developers have included this option);
- Unfortunately, 3D Vision in the game is total FAIL and frankly, I see no chance soon to fix it. :(
You should be able to turn off the hud in every game, great feature.
ReplyDeleteStop making me curious. That's mean.
ReplyDeleteYeah you should be able to turn off that crappy HUD in every game, but many don't let you. That's a big success to, meaning their already at work on the next one..haha
ReplyDeletehadn't heard of it but looks pretty sweet, thanks for the review
ReplyDeleteI saw the side by side comparison video between the PC version and Console version. The PC version is clearly the winner.
ReplyDeleteit does look cool....I'm off to find out more
ReplyDeleteAlan Wake? Why haven't I heard of this...?
ReplyDeleteThat would be nice. :)
ReplyDeletewithin 48 hours?!?! no way. That's damn quick.
ReplyDeletethey were smart and put it at a low enough price to get people to snatch it up right away instead of waiting for a sale.
